Quality Care without the Office Visit

Over the past few weeks, I have been carefully monitoring the unfolding and ever-changing information being released relative to the COVID-19 health crisis. As always, my intent is to support and treat my clients in a consistent and effective manner. Similarly, I am committed to my role as a responsible world citizen and, therefore, have sought to uphold and to fully participate in recommended efforts to help contain and mitigate the current and future effects of COVID-19 in our community.

Therefore, I have temporarily transitioned all in-person sessions to Telehealth sessions, offering both video and phone sessions. I plan to utilize this form of therapy until it is deemed safe to return to my professional office.

It is absolutely my goal to resume all sessions in person as quickly as possible, while still honoring my responsibility to help “flatten the curve” of COVID-19 transmission in the immediate future.

If you have a scheduled appointment, I will contact your directly informing you of this temporary transition. All sessions will remain scheduled for their original time, and you have the choice of a video or phone session. For online therapy, I am using a HIPAA-compliant platform widely used by many therapists to conduct all video sessions. In addition, it is very easy to use. After using this platform this past week, I have received feedback from my clients that these online sessions are both highly effective and convenient.

If you are a new client interested in starting therapy, do not hesitate to contact me to schedule an appointment. I am available to support you through online therapy until we are able to transition back to my professional office.

If you are unfamiliar with Telehealth sessions, here are a few quick and helpful points to help you with this temporary therapeutic transition:

1. Most, if not all, of my clients are finding “virtual” or phone sessions to be highly effective and convenient.

2. If you are not super-computer savvy or are anxious about how to use technology, I will work to make it as seamless as possible. I have chosen a platform that it is easy to use and I am happy to assist you with any questions or concerns.

3. A common concern I hear from clients regarding online therapy is finding a quiet and/or confidential space when you’re homebound with children and/or family members or roommates. Given that video sessions can be conducted on your smartphone, clients have found it helpful to go to a park, sit in their car in the driveway, and/or walk around your neighborhood. Get creative and support yourself. Find a private space that allows you to continue receiving therapeutic support during this challenging time.

Rest assured, I will always be conducting virtual sessions in a quiet and confidential space, giving you the same high quality & professionalism that you experience within my professional office.
